General Voting System

The default look & feel of Up/Down Voting looks like this (image below).

Note the text on both the top and bottom labeled 'Vote Up' and 'Vote Down'.

The administrator of the community can modified the language & Strings of the community. In general they should still have the concept of either 'Vote' or 'Vote Up & Vote Down' even if the words are phrased a little differently.

Voting Style: Up/Down

What does the vote number represent?

The number you see in the Vote area of an Idea is calculated using this formula:
(total # votes up) - (total # votes down)

Is there a way to see the total count of the votes within the Community?

Yes, however, only an administrator can see the subtotals via Reports
