Registration Process for a Standard User

A user will go through the following process in case a user is been invited to an IdeaScale community for the first time or an existing member (registered with IdeaScale) tries to join a community.

Register Via Invitation

A member can be invited by the administrator to join the community by sending an invitation email. The member needs to click the link “Yes this is my email” to verify his email address and complete the registration process.




Once the member clicks on the link "Yes, this is my email" member will be auto logged in to the account and will be prompted to Set up the Profile. The member would need to set up profile which would include the username for @mention and account password.





Also in case the community has member profile questions set up the user would have to complete the same, so as to start participating.


Register to a Community

A user can register to a community by creating an account with us. To register with us click on "Register" link on the top bar or "Register Now" link below the Login button. The user should get a screen as shown below.





In certain communities there will be a moderator approval required for all new user willing to participate in a community. Members will receive New account Approved email notification, once the moderator approves the account as shown below.





Once the member clicks on the link "Click here to log in" user will be auto logged in to the account and will be prompted to Set up the Profile. The user would need to set up profile which would include the username for @mention and account password.


Registered User joining a Community

A registered member can join any new community by logging into the desired community URL with the IdeaScale credentials. A user then can join the desired community by clicking the link “Join This Community” on the top bar. 





Please note:

On all the instances above, if there is a moderator approval required enabled on the community, after  creation of account the user will get a message "Your account has been created. A moderator will approve your account as soon as possible". Once the moderator has approved an approval email will be sent out.





The member will have to set up a user name for @mentions in the community. The member can set up different user name for all the community the user has joined.
