Reports: Export Idea Data

Can I "Export" all the ideas of the community to an Excel spreadsheet or CSV format?

Yes. To export:

Login » IdeaScale » My IdeaScale (Select IdeaScale Portal) » Reports » Export Data (in left nav)

You can then choose to export member data or idea data. Once you click the "Export Idea Data" or "Export User Data" button, your data request will be placed in a queue for processing. Once complete, a link to the file will be presented which you can then download. Also, you can access the file at a later date by clicking on the "Download Center" link in the left nav.

What Data Filter options are available when exporting ideas?

• Date Filter: You can enter in the start date and the end date to download data for a particular time period.
• Category: You can select the category for which you wish to download the data.

What fields are exported with the idea data?

Currently the following fields are available for export:

Idea Tab

• Date
• Idea Number
• Author
• Category
• Net Votes
• Votes Up
• Votes Down
• Number of comments
• Idea Title
• Idea Details (body of idea)
• Idea URL
• Custom Fields

• Date
• Idea Number
• Author
• Comment

Is it possible to Export data with geo-location?

Yes, ENTERPRISE LICENSE HOLDERS can Export Data with geo-location (latitude,longitude) from Community Settings -> Report -> Export Data
If "Include Geo Location" is checked then two extra columns, latitude and longitude will be added to your Excel report.

Some of our clients have used this data to create map mashups.

Are custom fields included in the CSV member export?

At this time, when exporting member data to a CSV file, custom fields are not included in the export.

Are comments included in the export?

Yes. Comments are exported in an additional tab on the Excel spreadsheet that you can download.

Note: Location data is collected at the Member's discretion. It is not automatically collected.
