Glossary of Badges
What are the different badges that IdeaScale members earn and how do they earn them?
IdeaScale members can earn badges for activity, for experience and for user roles:
Activity Track
Egg: Awarded for completing menial and introductory tasks such as registration, idea voting, and commenting on ideas.

Larva: Awarded for completing routine tasks within the organization’s community. In addition, submission of an idea can earn users a Larva badge for contributing their opinions to benefit the enterprise.

Pupa: Awarded for completing task requiring sufficient effort that benefits the organization’s community. Signing a new sales client, submitting a financial report, or completing a task requiring more than a week’s time can earn users a Pupa badge.

Bee: Awarded for completing exceptional tasks requiring diligence and dedication. For examples users making more than X sales a month are awarded a Bee badge.

BusyBee: Awarded by community administrators to users who surpass community expectations, and thus delivered results benefiting the work community, and enterprise as a whole.

Experience Badges
Apprentice: Awarded to a user upon his/ her introduction to an organization’s community or vocation.

Journeyman: Awarded to those who surpass the rank of the ‘Apprentice Badge’ by showcasing their proficient demeanor and contribution to the community.

Master: Awarded to those who have progressed through the ranks of your organization, proving to be a knowledgeable and reliable asset to the community.

Grandmaster: Awarded to those who hold an authoritative role in their field and are essential for the growth and success of the community. * Badges, points, and requirements are customizable to tailor your enterprise needs.

Permissions Badges Signifies a user that is temporarily joining your organization’s community. Such users can be deleted and/ or added by community owners and administrators.

Member: Identifies a user a permanent and trusted member of your community.

Moderator: Assigned by a community administrator to an experienced user, giving him/her the permission to facilitate and review the work of subordinate community members.

Admin: Awarded to community administrators. Users holding an Admin badge can assign badges to lower level community members, tasks, and review the community’s analytics dashboards.

Owner: A user holding an ‘Owner Badge’ is the only community member with the permission to assign community administrators. The community owner is also capable of customizing badges, points, and requirements according to enterprise needs.

Superuser: A wildcard badge used by community administrators to award specific duties and roles to members as shifts occur in your community.
