How to Re-index Ideas

Sometimes when a user searches for known keywords in a community, ideas with those keywords do not show up.

When first creating your community, its common to edit, delete or recreate lots of ideas and test users. This can cause the index tool to become less effective.

If you're experiencing this problem, it's a good idea to re-index your ideas.

1) Login in to your account (This task can only be performed by community administrators).

2) Click on the "Reports" tab, then click on the "Export Data" tab in the left navigation bar.

3) Scroll down the page to select the "Index Test Data" button.

Note: depending on the number of ideas in your community, this could take some time. You will be notified that the operation is complete (via both the user interface and an email).
