Security Settings: Email Domain Based Access Restrictions

I would like to restrict access to only employees of my company - How can I do that easily?

One way of restricting access (without doing manual approvals) for every user is to resitrict users from a particular domain. So, if all employees of your company have a @mycompany.com email address, you can setup an email mask for mycompany.com and only users with that email address pattern will be allowed automatic access.

How do I set this up?

Login » IdeaScale » My IdeaScale (Select IdeaScale Portal) » Settings » Security » Access Restrictions

Can I add multiple email address domains?

Yes, you can add multiple email address domains separated by commas. Example:

ideascale.com,questionpro.com,micropoll.com

What will users see when they try to sign-up with another email address?

Customers will not be allowed to sign up for an account. See image below:

Can I limit registration to my community based on a specific top level domain (TLD) or a number of top level domains?

Yes. For instance, if you manage an IdeaScale intended for university administrators, you may wish to limit registration to users with an email address at the TLD of .edu. When IdeaScale worked with the White House on The Presiden'ts SAVE Award 2010, the registration was limited to users with emails at government TLDs such as .gov, .mil, etc.
