Settings: I changed my Community settings - Why aren't those changes reflected in the actual site?

IdeaScale uses heavy caching to ensure that our systems scale to meet your needs. Sometimes that scalability comes with a price. In general if changes you make via the admin tool are not reflected immediately in your community, it is because you are seeing a cached version of the site.

What Users does this affect?

  • Community Users who view a Community after an Admin has made changes.
  • Community Users who view a Community after another Community User has made changes.

How do I correct this issue? You have two options:

  • wait - When a User's session times out, the next time they log in the site will reflect any changes.
  • log out and log back in - When a User signs out and signs back in the site will reflect any changes.

Does this apply to category counts as well?

Yes.
