The user assigned as Custom Field Moderator will have the ability to take Moderator Actions on those ideas to which the custom field response has been currently set. This works specifically for Idea Custom field with Single choice and multiple choice answer type.

You can assign a custom field moderator from Community Settings >> Member Management >> Moderators >> Custom Field Moderators

Custom Field Moderator has specific permissions as follows:

  • They can edit ideas that currently have their custom field response selected.
  • They can move ideas that currently have their custom field response selected between campaigns.
  • They can move ideas that currently have their custom field response selected between stages.
  • They can Approve/Reject ideas that currently have their custom field response selected.
  • They can merge ideas when both ideas are in their portfolio.
  • They can add moderator tags on all ideas.
  • They can link all ideas in their portfolio.
  • They can manage & edit stage functions such as Idea Teams and Refinement Questions for ideas that currently have their custom field response selected.
  • They can view the “Manage Ideas” button and functionality on the front-end of the community for ideas that currently have their custom field response selected.
  • They may Approve Comments added to ideas that currently have their custom field response selected..
  • They may submit Moderator comments, pin their comments to the top of comment threads and have their comments as being from a moderator, on ideas that currently have their custom field response selected.
  • They will receive the following additional emails, although the information will be personalized to only include the ideas they manage: Idea Approval Emails (either as a digest or real-time.)The custom field moderator will be able to moderate, edit, change or move ideas from moderation dashboard.

Please Note: Custom Field Moderators cannot by default see private campaigns. If you would like your Custom Field moderators to see a private campaign and the ideas in it select the “Allow all moderators to view and moderate this campaign” option in the campaign set-up.
