Community Settings Menu Reorganization and Cleanup

On Friday, June 12, 2015 the IdeaScale Community Settings will undergo some structural changes to make settings more intuitive and easy to find for admins. All features of the application will still remain as you have them now, but some of the features will be relocated and grouped under new, more intuitive section headings.
 
 Here is a summary of upcoming changes so you will know what to expect when the update goes live.

A. Top Level Navigation Sections:

 (i) General Settings: REPLACES Basic Settings and Advanced Settings and contains a lot of what used to be included in the former sections
  (ii) Advanced Settings: REMOVED and contents have been reassigned to other sections
  (iii) Member Management: MOVED to TOP LEVEL and now includes all functions related to managing people, including members, Administrators, Moderators, and Groups
  (iv) Engagement: This is a new section which includes Campaigns and Broadcast Emails.  
 (v)Workflow:
EXISTING section, includes all features related to workflow, including Stages, Idea Submission settings, Automation Builder, etc.
  (vi) Customization: RENAMED formerly called UI Customization, this section includes all settings related to customization of look and feel of your community as well as general site behavior settings
 (vii) Reports: EXISTING section, this section contains all of your IdeaScale reports, it remains as it was, with just some minor updates to page order
 (viii) Integration: EXISTING section, this section contains all features integrating with other platforms
 (ix) Security: EXISTING section, this section has been revised to contain only security related features
 (x) Data Management (existing section, this section contains features related to data export and import)
 
 
 Please Note: Moderation Section will appear only to the global or campaign moderators.
 


 Moderation section will be further divided into Ideas, Comments and Members to all the global or campaign moderators.
 
 
 (i) Ideas: this is a new page allowing all the pending ideas for moderation to be lined up in this section.
 
 (ii) Comments:
this is a new page allowing all the pending comments for approval from the moderator to be shown in this section.
 
 (iii) Members: this is a new page wherein all the new members joining the community awaits a approval from the moderator.
 

1. General Settings

 Summary of Changes:
 
 - The top level section has been renamed, this is the section formerly called “Basic Settings”
 
 - Community Info: page has been renamed, formerly called “Global Settings”
 
 - Campaigns: page has been renamed, formerly called “Manage Campaigns”
 
 -  Language Settings: existing page relocated here from “Advanced Settings”, no other changes
 
 - Emails and Notifications: page has been renamed, formerly called “Email Management” The following two settings have been added to this section:
 
 (i) Apple Push Notifications feature has been relocated from “Member Management” to this page
 
 (ii) Email Subscriptions / Notifications feature has been relocated from “Member management” to this page
 

2. Member Management

Summary of Changes:
 
 - This is a new top level section which includes all existing functions related to management of community members
 
 - Members: this page includes all sections previously contained in the “Member Management” section under “Basic Settings”, with the following addition:
 
 (i) Member Profile Questions feature has been relocated here from the former “Custom Fields” page under “Advanced Settings”
 
 - Administrators: this page has been relocated from “Security”
 
 - Moderators: this page has been relocated from “Security”
 
 - Groups: the feature previously known as “Community Roles” has been renamed “Groups, and it has been relocated here, under “Member Management.
 
 - Group Based Moderation: this section has been relocated here from “Workflow”

3. Engagement

Summary of Changes:
 
 This is entirely a new section with Campaigns and Broadcast Emails included in it.
 (i) Campaigns - This section helps you manage your campaigns and edit any campaign settings.
 
 (ii) Campaign Attributes - Campaign attribute allow administrators to put additional information of a campaign. 

 (iii)Broadcast Emails - This feature allows you to send broadcast emails.
 

4. Workflow

 Summary of Changes:
 
 - Stages: this page has been relocated here from the former section called “Advanced Settings”
 
 - Idea Submission: this is a new page which contains all settings related to idea submission, including the following:
 
 (i) Idea Submission Settings: this page section is being reserved for all general idea submission settings and currently includes the “Team Based Idea Submission” setting
 
 (ii) Approvals Required: this page section has been created to contain all approval related settings, and has relocated here a number of settings that were formerly under “Moderation Settings” in “Security”
 
 (iii) Idea Custom Fields: this page section has been relocated here from the page formerly called “Custom Fields” located under “Advanced Settings”
 
 - Idea Teams: this is an existing page, settings related to Idea Teams
 
 - Automation Builder: this is an existing feature under workflow
 
 - Survey Tools: this is a new page which contains all of the existing pushed survey assessment tools, formerly contained in the “Assessments” page: Member Poll, Pairwise Comparison, Assessment, and ReviewScale

5. Customization

 Summary of Changes:
 
 - This is the section formerly called “UI Customization”
 
 - Look & Feel: this is an existing section, no changes have been made except that “Customize Site Behavior” has been separated out as its own page
 
 - Customize Site Behavior: this is a new page, and has been separated out as its own page
 
 - Tags Settings: this is an existing page, no changes
 
 - Tabs Settings: this is an existing page, no changes
 
 - Languages and Strings: this is an existing page, no changes
 
 - Global File Library: this is an existing page, no changes
 
 - Community File Library: this is an existing page, no changes

6. Reports

 Summary of Changes:
 
 - Community Inforgraphic:  this is an existing page, no
 changes, only moved up
 
 - Population Breakdown: this is an existing page, no changes
 
 - Campaign Report: this is an existing page, no changes
 
 - Member Report: this is an existing page, no changes
 
 -  Idea Report: this is an existing page, no changes
 
 - Email Report: this is an existing page, no changes
 
 - Idea Cloud: this is an existing page, no changes


 - Export Data: this is a new page which allows you to export all sorts of data related to the community.
 
 - Data Export Log: this is a new page which shows a record of exported data.
 

7. Integration

Summary of Changes:
 
 - This is an existing top level section. There are few changes here, except note that “Excel Upload” has been relocated to “Data Management” and renamed
 
 - Social Media Connectors: this is an existing page, no changes
 
 - Widgets: this is an existing page, no changes
 
 - Idea Feeds: this is a new page, and contains the new “Idea Feeds” feature
 
 - Google Analytics: this is an existing page, no changes


 - Developer API: this is an existing page, no changes

8. Security

Summary of Changes:
 
 - The main change here is that a number of pages formerly located under Security have been relocated to other sections:
 
 (i) “Administrators” and “Moderators” pages have moved to “Member Management”,
 
 (ii) “Moderation Settings” have been moved to the “Approvals Required” section of the “Idea Submission” page under “Workflow”.
 
 (iii) “Community Roles” have been renamed “Groups” and the settings page has been moved to “Member Management”
 
 - Access Restrictions: this is an existing page, no changes except that this has been moved to the top of the list in “Security”
 
 -  Single Sign On Settings: this is an existing page, no changes
 
 - Social Login Settings: this is an existing page, no changes

 

9. Data Management


 Summary of Changes:
 
 - Data Export Log: this is an existing page, it was previously called “Download Center” and shows a history of all data exports which have been made from the community
 
 - Export Data: this is an existing page, no changes
 
 - Import Data: this existing page was formerly under Integration and was called “Excel Upload”, it has been relocated here
 
 - Migrate Data: this is an existing page, no changes
 
 - Erase Community Data: this is an existing page, no changes except that it has been moved to the bottom of the list under Data Management
